Amid talks on who will be the Speaker in the incoming 19th Congress, members of the Party List Coalition (PLC) will be holding a meeting on Saturday, May 14 in Rockwell, Makati City.
Those invited were members of the 18th Congress and the members of the next Congress.
The lunch meeting will be hosted by Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Zaldy Co.
Ako Bicol Rep. Alfredo Garbin said the PLC will elect a new set of officers for the 19th Congress.
Garbin said the speakership race could also be discussed.
Last Thursday, Co joined Ilocos Norte Representative-elect Sandro Marcos in visiting reelected Leyte Rep. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez in the latter’s residence in Makati City.
With them were Representatives Jose Gay Padiernos (GP party-list), Bong Teves (TGP party-list), and Jojo Ang (Uswag Ilonggo party-list).
Marcos, the eldest son of presumptive president Ferdinand Marcos Jr. threw his support to Romualdez should he decides to run for the speakership race in July.
On Friday, Romualdez was visited by incoming Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos who was accompanied by a number of congressmen.
Aside from Sandro Marcos, Abalos was accompanied by Representatives Roman Romulo (Pasig), Presidential Political Adviser Jacinto Paras, Ronald Singson (Ilocos Sur), and Rep. Antonio “Tonypet” Albano (Isabela).
Romualdez was also visited by Representatives Sam Verzosa (Tutok to Win), Mary Mitzi Mitch Cajayon-Uy (Caloocan City), Ronald Singson (Ilocos Sur), Inno Dy (Isabela), David Suarez (Quezon), and James “Jojo” Ang Jr. (Uswag Ilonggo).
