Re-elected Cavite 7th District Rep. Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla could be part of the incoming Marcos Cabinet.
Presumptive President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is reportedly considering Remulla as the Secretary of the Department of Justice (DOJ) amid moves to draft nominees to key Cabinet positions, the Politiko learned.
According to Politiko’s Iskooper, Marcos met with Remulla and asked him to head the justice department.
It is not clear if Remulla, a UP-educated politiko-lawyer, is inclined to accept the Cabinet post. Remulla, a known supporter of Marcos, recently won a fresh term as representative of Cavite province. Running unopposed, he secured more than 288,000 votes based on reported election data.
Remulla is supposed to be Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez’s majority leader but Marcos wanted him in his Cabinet, the Iskooper claimed.
The lawmaker, who ran under the National Unity Party, backed the presidential tandem of Marcos and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio in the recently concluded elections.
