Reelected Leyte Rep. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez on Saturday said the incoming 19th Congress is blessed with a wealth of experience and a pool of leaders.

Romualdez was referring to former President and incoming Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, and incumbent Speaker and reelected Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Jay Velasco.

“Yung ang kagandahan po that we have a wealth of experience, we have a wealth of leadership, a pool of leaders so we can always go to them for advice for help and guidance. We are very blessed to have leaders of that caliber with that experience,” said Romualdez in an interview after the Party-list Coalition Foundation Inc. (PCFI) supported his speakership.

When asked who will be his Majority Leader, Romualdez said. “We are actually working now on the leadership of the House.”

“There is so much talent in the House of Representatives so there are many to choose from but of course, we will make the decision shortly with the leadership,” he added.

Asked about the agenda of the House of Representatives in the incoming Congress, Romualdez said they will push for the continuation of the government’s amelioration program to help those badly affected by the pandemic.

Romualdez said they will also push for economic measures “to help reinvigorate our economy.’’

“Will be very deliberate about it but it will be very well studied in consultation and in deliberation with the Executive po led by President(-in-waiting Ferdinand) Bongbong (Marcos Jr.),” Romualdez added.
